This is the special edition of the 2023 Moomin Day mug, "Sea Breeze Platinum," which will be available only through a lottery. The Sea Breeze Platinum mug is a numbered special edition of the Sea Breeze mug, distinguished by its platinum details and a different gift box. Each Sea Breeze Platinum mug is numbered, and only 5000 mugs will be available. This mug should not be washed in a dishwasher due to its platinum details. The lottery will take place from June 7th to June 13th, 2023. 1. Go to Moominarabia.com 2. A pre-authorization will be made on your credit card (the price of the mug, €99.90). 3. The winners, who will receive the right to purchase the mug, will be drawn before 4 PM (EEST) on June 13th. 4. Participants will be notified of the results via email. For previously released Moomin mugs, only the Fazer (400 pieces) and Moomintroll Daydreaming (2005 pieces) mugs have had their exact production numbers announced. It is anticipated that the Sea Breeze Platinum mug will become a new sought-after treasure for many Moomin collectors. --- In 2023, the Sea Breeze mug takes us to the archipelago to celebrate Moomin Day and Arabia's 150th anniversary. To mark this double celebration, two mugs will be available: the rare Sea Breeze Platinum and the Sea Breeze Moomin Day mug. The mug's archipelago-themed illustration is based on Tove Jansson's novel "Moominpappa and the Sea." Among the familiar characters from Moominvalley, you'll find Moomintroll, Little My, Moominmamma, and Moominpappa. The illustration for this mug was composed by recently retired designer Tove Slotte. Sea Breeze is her 100th Moomin mug illustration. The foundation of the Sea Breeze mug's illustration is made from old letter papers that Tove Jansson used when responding to fans. The 2023 Moomin Day mug special edition "Sea Breeze Platinum" is sold in a beautiful gift box.

Who designs the illustrations for the Moomin mugs?
Tove Slotte, born in 1957, is a Finnish artist and a graphic designer. She is a professional ceramist. Tove Slotte worked at Arabia from 1985 to 1990, after which she has worked as a freelance designer. She is best known for designing and illustrating the Moomin products for Iittala and Arabia ceramics. Tove Slotte has been a Moomin fan since her childhood. She says her favourite Moomin book is The Book about Moomin, Mymble and Little My. Tove Slotte has designed the Moomin products for Arabia for more than 30 years.
