This mug was sold in between 1991 and 1999. It is also known as Moominpappa. It was designed by Camilla Moberg, and the images are from the comic #12 Moomin and the Sea by Tove Jansson. In the images one can see Moominpappa inspired by the sea, writing and sending out a message in a bottle. Camilla Moberg was working as a freelance designer, and was hired by Arabia to substitute Tove Slotte. Moberg recalls the process: "The first thing I did was go through all the original books and comics. I chose images that would help build the story. For the background colours I found inspiration in the coloured books by Tove Jansson. I wanted to capture the atmosphere and feel of Moomin Valley as best I could."
