Moomin mug Daydreams, also known as the BEAMS Japan Moomin mug, is the second hand-painted Moomin mug by Arabia. Earlier, Arabia released 8,000 numbered and hand-painted Home Moomin mugs, but the exact production quantity of the Arabia x BEAMS Japan collaboration remains unknown. The artwork for Daydreams draws inspiration from Arabia’s first Moomin mugs from the 1950s, which featured original illustrations by Tove Jansson. While those early mugs had a more rounded form, Daydreams follows the modern Teema shape, combining design elements from both the Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden mugs launched over 70 years ago. The BEAMS Japan x Moomin Arabia mug was sold exclusively at BEAMS stores in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan, making it one of the most sought-after limited editions among collectors. 1950s Moomin mugs Did you know that Arabia already produced Moomin mugs in Finland back in the 1950s? It remains unclear how many were made, and they are considered extremely rare today. Two versions are known: one featuring Moomintroll, and another featuring Snorkmaiden.
