Holiday rush (2026)

Moomin Mug Holiday Rush is Moomin Arabia’s summer seasonal mug for 2026. The mug launches a new five-part series of summer seasonal mugs inspired by the Moomins’ adventures on the Riviera. In addition to the mug, the softly toned Holiday Rush collection includes a plate and a mini mug. Products from the collection were available for a limited time from May 6 to September 30, 2026. The illustration on the Holiday Rush mug depicts the Moomins preparing for their very first trip to the French Riviera. Packing preparations are in full swing as Moominmamma, Moominpappa, Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden each try to fit everything they need into their suitcases. The lively illustration is primarily inspired by Tove Jansson’s comic strip Moomin on the Riviera (1955). The story is partly based on a real-life journey Tove Jansson and her mother made together to the Riviera in 1954. The illustration also includes elements inspired by the comic stories Moomintroll and the Comet (1958) and Moomin under Sail (1959). The mug’s pastel-toned colour palette highlights the collection’s summery and anticipation-filled atmosphere. A charming detail decorates the inside of the mug: a handwritten note reading “The key is under the window-sill!”. For the first time, a similar detail also appears on a Moomin plate, as the same note illustration is printed along the rim of the plate.
