The Moomin mug Ice Swimming is Moomin Arabia’s winter season mug for 2025. Unlike in previous years, this seasonal mug is only available through Moomin Arabia’s online store and shops, as well as the Moomin.com online store and Moomin Shops. The production quantity is unknown. The illustration is based on Tove Jansson’s comic strip Moomin’s Winter Follies (1955), which also inspired the previous winter seasonal mug Ski Jumping. Ice Swimming concludes the four-part series of winter mugs themed around the Moomins’ winter sports. The Ice Swimming tableware series includes not only the mug but also a bowl.

Who designs the illustrations for the Moomin mugs?
Tove Slotte, born in 1957, is a Finnish artist and a graphic designer. She is a professional ceramist. Tove Slotte worked at Arabia from 1985 to 1990, after which she has worked as a freelance designer. She is best known for designing and illustrating the Moomin products for Iittala and Arabia ceramics. Tove Slotte has been a Moomin fan since her childhood. She says her favourite Moomin book is The Book about Moomin, Mymble and Little My. Tove Slotte has designed the Moomin products for Arabia for more than 30 years.
