Moomin's Day, Autumn (2026)

**The Moomin’s Day 2026 mug** is Moomin Arabia’s special mug for Moomin’s Day 2026. The mug will become available on August 8, 2026, one day before the official Moomin’s Day. Like previous Moomin’s Day mugs, it will only be available for a limited time and in a limited edition. The mug has a capacity of 0.3 litres and comes packaged in a gift box decorated with the mug’s illustration. A special Moomin’s Day 2026 stamp can be found on the bottom of the mug. In the illustration of the Moomin’s Day 2026 mug, the Moomins are preparing for the arrival of winter and their upcoming hibernation. The Moomin family gathers hay for bedding and pine needles to fill their stomachs before the long winter rest. Nature glows in the warm colours of autumn, while the low Nordic sun paints the landscape in shades of ochre, gold and russet. The illustration captures the moment just before the first snow arrives in Moominvalley. The mug’s design is based on Tove Jansson’s comic strip *Moomin’s Winter Follies* (1955). The autumn theme completes the series of Moomin’s Day mugs depicting the four seasons of Moominvalley. The series began with a summer-themed mug in 2018 and continued with winter in 2021 and spring in 2024. The Moomin’s Day 2026 mug will also be remembered as the final Moomin mug designed for Moomin Arabia by the beloved illustrator Tove Slotte. During her career spanning more than thirty years, Slotte created a total of 113 Moomin mug illustrations, many of which are now considered favourites among collectors.
