Moomin Mug Summer Dance is part of Moomin Arabia’s special collection for 2026, released exclusively for the Swedish market. The mug becomes available on May 20, 2026, and will only be sold during 2026 or while stocks last. The mug has a capacity of 0.3 litres. Summer Dance launches a new series of country-specific Moomin collections by Moomin Arabia. The illustration on the Summer Dance mug features the residents of Moominvalley dancing in a sea of flowers against a light blue sky-like background. The artwork captures the atmosphere of summer celebrations and Midsummer festivities, highlighted by the flower crowns worn by Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden as well as the bright sun shining in the background. The collection’s summery colour palette and festive mood make it especially fitting for summer cottages, gardens and picnics. The main inspiration for the illustration comes from the Tove and Lars Jansson comic story Moomin and the Scouts (1961). In the story, Moomintroll falls in love with a scout girl, who eventually becomes interested in him after he saves her life. However, a jealous Snorkmaiden reveals some of Moomintroll’s unusual habits, causing the scout girl to leave him and take up folk dancing with her new crush. In the end, Moomintroll returns to Snorkmaiden, and together they dance in a flower meadow. The collection’s illustration also includes elements inspired by Tove Jansson’s comic stories Moomin Family and the Sea (1957) and Moomin Begins a New Life (1956).
