In honour of the first and so far the only Moomin museum, Arabia launched the first Moomin art mug in the spring of 2017. The mug was created in collaboration with the museum and the idea was to honour Tove Jansson’s art collection. She donated the collection to Tampere Art Museum in 1986. The original artwork is Tove Jansson’s colourful aquarelle that was created for the French edition of the novel Finn Family Moomintroll in 1968. There’s a special stamp on the bottom of this mug. Instead of the painting Moomintroll, there’s a Moomintroll that is pictured in the logo of the Moomin Museum. At first this mug was sold exclusively at the shop of the Moomin Museum in Tampere, but after a week the mug was released to other official retailers.
