Between 1956 and 1963, ceramics artist Leo Tykkyläinen made approximately 15,000 Moomin figurines of ten different Moomin characters in his workshop. There are several color variations for each character, and the size of the figurines varies slightly. Every figurine is unique. Leo Tykkyläinen was a ceramics artist, famous for making Moomin figurines to be sold in the Stockmann department store in Helsinki from the late 1950s to the early 60s. In 1964 Tykkyläinen started working at Arabia's factory, and the manufacturing rights of the figurines were transferred to Arabia at the same time.

Leo Tykkyläinen was a ceramics artist, famous for making Moomin figurines to be sold in the Stockmann department store in Helsinki from the late 1950s to the early 60s. Between 1956 and 1963, ceramics artist Leo Tykkyläinen made approximately 15,000 Moomin figurines of ten different Moomin characters in his workshop in Maunula, Helsinki. In 1964 Tykkyläinen started working at Arabia's factory, and the manufacturing rights of the figurines were transferred to Arabia at the same time.

Misabel
Misabel is a tiny and sensitive character rolling around in her self-pity. She is lonely and sometimes feels unnecessarily offended. Misabel has dark hair and a small figure. Misabel takes after her parents, as they are also somewhat grumpy. In some odd way Misabel seems to enjoy her misery. She was quite happy to play the role of the tragic Primadonna in Moominpappa’s screenplay. Misabel is a housekeeper for the Moomin family and she has a dog named Sorry-oo.
