Production of Marimekko Oiva Unikko mugs began in 2009, and dozens of different types have been produced since then. Mugs have been produced e.g. by Arabia.

Sami Ruotsalainen is a Finnish ceramic and glass designer. He graduated from the Helsinki University of Arts, Design and Architecture in 2005. He has designed the Maku tableware series for Arabia and the Oiva tableware series for Marimekko.

Wataru Tominaga is a Japanese clothing designer who is especially known for his spectacular prints. Born in 1988, the designer has studied fashion not only in Japan, but also in Great Britain and Finland.
Maija Isola
Maija Isola (1927 - 2001) was a Finnish textile designer and artist. She did most of her life's work as the long-term chief designer of Marimekko textiles and as a freelance visual artist. Maija Isola was the main designer of Marimekko's interior fabrics until 1987. Maija Isola's most famous pattern is Unikko which was launched in 1964.
