This is the 2023 Moomin Day mug "Sea Breeze," which became available in official Moomin online stores on August 9, 2023, at 8:00 AM Finnish time. Additionally, the mug was put up for sale in Iittala stores in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. There is a limited batch of mugs, and they will be on sale as long as they are in stock. Customers can purchase a maximum of 6 mugs at a time. The bottom of the Sea Breeze mug features a special anniversary stamp. In 2023, the Merituuli mug takes us to the archipelago to celebrate Moomin Day and Arabia's 150th anniversary. To mark this double celebration, two mugs will be available: the rare Sea Breeze Platinum and the Sea Breeze Moomin Day mug. The mug's archipelago-themed illustration is based on Tove Jansson's novel "Moominpappa and the Sea." Among the familiar characters from Moominvalley, you'll find Moomintroll, Little My, Moominmamma, and Moominpappa. The illustration for this mug was composed by recently retired designer Tove Slotte. Sea Breeze is her 100th Moomin mug illustration. The foundation of the Sea Breeze mug's illustration is made from old letter papers that Tove Jansson used when responding to fans. The 2023 Moomin Day mug "Sea Breeze" is sold in a beautiful gift box.
