Moomin Mug Simple Joys is a Japan-exclusive Moomin Arabia mug released on April 22, 2026. The mug has a capacity of 0.3 litres. The illustration on the Simple Joys mug is based on the same artwork previously seen on the Moominvalley Park Japan 2026 mug, although the colour palette has been updated. Most notably, the original orange-toned background has been replaced with turquoise. In addition, the Simple Joys mug features the standard Moomin Arabia bottom stamp, whereas the Moominvalley Park version includes a special theme park stamp. Unlike the earlier version, the Simple Joys mug was not sold with a gift box. The mug’s illustration draws inspiration from four different Moomin comic stories. The foreground scene featuring Moomintroll and Snufkin fishing is based on Moomin and the Golden Tail (1958), in which Moomintroll’s golden tail attracts widespread attention in Moominvalley. The peaceful fishing moment with Snufkin offers a calm escape from the surrounding commotion. The illustration is also inspired by the comic stories Moomin Builds a House (1955), Moomin Begins a New Life (1956) and Moomin Falls in Love (1956). The Simple Joys mug portrays the Moomins enjoying joyful everyday moments and familiar activities. In addition to Moomintroll and Snufkin fishing, the illustration features Moominmamma watering flowers and Moominpappa hanging a hammock between trees. The mug’s original English name, Simple Joys, refers to the small but meaningful joys of everyday life.
