Moomin Figurines

The first ceramic Moomin figurines appeared between 1956 and 1963. Leo Tykkyläinen manufactured around 15,000 handmade small Moomin figurines for sale to Stockmann. These are commonly known as the Moomin figurines of the 1950s. The rights of these figurines were transferred to Arabia in 1964. After a few decades of hiatus, Arabia started producing Moomin figurines in the 1990s. The new figurines were designed by Tuulikki Pietilä. Since the 2000s, Moomin figurines have been designed by Tove Slotte.
